LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - University of Michigan Health–Sparrow has been recognized as one of the country’s leading hospitals for maternity care.
U.S. News & World Report has awarded the hospital its 2026 High Performing Hospital for Maternity Care designation.
The recognition reflects strong performance in key quality measures, including C-section rates, newborn complication rates, breastfeeding support, episiotomy rates, and adherence to federal ‘birthing-friendly’ practices.
UM Health–Sparrow serves as the region’s preeminent birthing center, delivering more than 3,500 babies each year.
