The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert, predicting cold wave conditions in several parts of the country on Tuesday, December 9. These conditions are likely to impact Punjab, Chandigarh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana, among others.

Meanwhile, a yellow alert is in place for dense morning fog in Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, and several northeastern states, including Mizoram, Manipur, Meghalaya, and Assam.

In a post on X, the Met Office warned that a severe cold wave is likely to persist over Central, East, and Northern India from December 9 to 12.
