LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - 11 years after setting up an endowment fund for his three favorite charities, Wayne Simmons’ efforts are still supporting his community. We spoke with Sara Judson and Major Michael Knott this morning to get the details on how you can also support your community.

For his endowment, Simmons chose to support the Salvation Army, the local American Cancer Society, and the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home.

This year, each of those charities will receive donations of a little over $20,000 to carry out the mission that Simmons wanted to support.
