The injury hits just keep coming for the Penguins.

Evgeni Malkin and Blake Lizotte will be out week to week with upper-body injuries and have been placed on injured reserve, the team announced Tuesday. Fellow forwards Danton Heinen and Sam Poulin have been recalled from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to provide reinforcements.

The Penguins begin a five-game homestand Tuesday night against Anaheim.

Malkin missed a practice before Sunday’s overtime loss to Dallas that the team called a maintenance day. But they announced Sunday that he is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

Lizotte played against Dallas, providing an assist on Connor Dewar’s opening goal. He did not appear to suffer an injury, and the team did not practice Monday.
