BALTIMORE -- Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback James Pierre has become a revelation this season, ascending from special teams standout to starting cornerback.

Against the Baltimore Ravens , Pierre made a few nice plays, including an excellent pass breakup down the field against Ravens wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Yet, his best play of the day was the interception of Lamar Jackson .

Jackson and Pierre both grew up in Florida and are first cousins. So, that pick meant a little bit more to Pierre than just an ordinary interception.

“Not necessarily, no. It’s just my mom will be talking about it a lot,” Pierre said.
