Discord now admits that their Windows 11 app uses unnecessary amounts of memory, reports Windows Latest . To address this, the communication platform is currently testing a new feature that automatically restarts the application whenever RAM usage exceeds 4GB.
Fortunately, the test won’t have Discord randomly shutting down in the middle of an active session. It will only trigger the automatic restart if the app has been running for at least an hour and the user has been inactive for at least 30 minutes and isn’t in a voice or video call.
Furthermore, the Discord app can only be automatically restarted like this once per day maximum.
