WASHINGTON — For the first time ever in the U.S., Oreo is going to be selling zero sugar cookies.
The cookies, available in regular and "double stuf" varieties, will be permanent additions to the brand's portfolio and not limited-time offers, according to Tuesday's announcement.
The cookies will be available nationwide starting in January 2026. Sugar-free Oreo versions have previously been launched in Europe and China .
The zero sugar options skip the aspartame and rely on sweetening from maltitol, polydextrose, sucralose and acesulfame potassium, the company said.
Instead of the typical Oreo container with a plastic tray, the zero sugar cookies come in a standup bag with individually wrapped two-cookie packs.
