The unsolved murder of Canadian mom Louise Chaput ripped a hole in her family’s heart that remains raw.
Now, cold case detectives in New Hampshire are reaching out to the public for help in solving the mysterious 2001 slaying.
Chaput, 52, was visiting New Hampshire from Sherbrooke, Quebec, with plans to spend several days taking short hikes while staying at the Joe Dodge Lodge of the Appalachian Mountain Club in Gorham, The Boston Globe reported at the time.
According to Attorney General John M. Formella and the New Hampshire State Police, Chaput arrived in Pinkham’s Grant, N.H., on Nov. 15, 2001. She left her car, a silver Ford Focus, at the Direttis Sima Trailhead.
