ODEBOLT, Iowa (Gray Media Iowa State Capital Bureau) -- Two women from the same northwest Iowa of approximately 1,000 people face off before voters Tuesday in a special election to represent House District 7. Although, the Republican nominee will have a substantial advantage in terms of registered voters in the district that represents Sac, Calhoun, Pocahontas, and western Webster Counties.
Republican Wendy Larson and Democrat Rachel Burns both live in Odebolt.
They are running to replace Mike Sexton, a Republican from Rockwell City, who resigned his seat in September to take a job with the Trump administration as director of U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development in Iowa.
Larson has previously worked in corporate sales and is a community volunteer. She lost to Sexton in the R
