A North Carolina couple has been indicted in the brutal stabbing death of a man found in the parking lot of the Stony Brook Yacht Club earlier this month.

Victor Panebianco, 32, and Kacy Corso, 33, both of King, North Carolina, were indicted by a Suffolk County grand jury for second-degree murder in the death of 52-year-old Christopher Millwater.

Officers were called to the waterfront lot on Shore Road around 3:45 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 10, after a fisherman reported finding an unconscious man on the ground, according to Suffolk County Police.

They found Millwater suffering from two stab wounds to the chest. He was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he died.

Investigators later reviewed surveillance video and gathered witness accounts, which showed the confrontation began moments after Corso pulled into the lot, according to the Suffolk County DA’s office. Millwater arrived shortly after and parked beside her vehicle.

Corso repositioned her car directly in front of Millwater’s. Panebianco then got out of her passenger seat and approached Millwater’s vehicle. When Millwater tried to drive around her car and head for the exit, Corso rammed his vehicle, disabling it, prosecutors said.

Millwater ran from the crash scene while calling out for help. Video shows Panebianco chasing him and swinging an object, according to investigators. Millwater is heard yelling “You’re stabbing me?”

As Millwater fell to the ground, Panebianco threatened to kill him and ordered him to stay away from Corso, prosecutors said. Corso could also be heard yelling during the attack.

While Millwater lay motionless, Panebianco kicked him in the head before returning to Corso’s vehicle, prosecutors said. The couple then fled the area.

Cellphone records obtained by investigators show the pair had arrived on Long Island less than 90 minutes before the stabbing and left the state soon after, prosecutors said.

Panebianco was arrested in North Carolina on Friday, Nov. 19, with assistance from the Stokes County Sheriff’s Office. Corso, who had returned to New York, was arrested by Suffolk County Police.

Both defendants are charged with second-degree murder and first-degree hindering prosecution. They are being held without bail. Each faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted.

“Today’s indictment reflects our unwavering commitment to seeking justice for victims of violent crime,” said Suffolk County DA Raymond Tierney. “The allegations contained in the indictment point to a deliberate and coordinated act of violence. We extend our deepest condolences to the victim’s family and remain dedicated to ensuring accountability for this tragic and senseless loss of life.”
