It's wild how quickly a promising season as turned for the Colts. And now, they are looking to familiar face out of desperation.

After starting quarterback Daniel Jones went down with a season-ending Achilles tear on Sunday, the Colts were also dealing with an injury to backup Riley Leonard. Rather than elevating from the practice squad or looking for any available (active) quarterback elsewhere, the Colts have decided to take a gamble on Philip Rivers.

Yes, 44-year-old Philip Rivers who hasn't played since the 2020 season.

The Colts worked out the the quarterback this week and came away impressed enough to sign the formerly retired veteran. That begs the question: Where would Rivers rank among the oldest all-time NFL quarterbacks?

Rivers would be up there, but he would rank sixth on the list behind George Blanda (48), Tom Brady (45), Steve DeBerg (44), Warren Moon (44) and Vinny Testaverde (44). Rivers turned 44 on Monday.
