An attempt at a traffic stop resulted in a chase involving the Grantville Police Department, Georgia State Patrol and the Coweta County Sheriff's Office.

On Nov. 29, Grantville police officers attempted to pull over Elias Uzziah Goodman, 22, for a traffic violation. However, he allegedly fled and the officers initiated a pursuit.

Coweta deputies were then notified of a high-speed chase coming north from Grantville toward Newnan.

When passing the 44-mile marker on Interstate 85, Goodman was reportedly driving at 120 mph.

According to the incident report, when Coweta deputies joined the chase, Goodman's speed was exceeding 130 mph.
