OGDENSBURG, New York (WWNY) - The city of Ogdensburg is chiming in after news of North Star Health Alliance’s fiscal challenges.
The hospital group, which owns Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center in the city, said last week that state funding stopped flowing in at a critical point as North Star transitions Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center into a critical access hospital and behavioral health hospital.
The group says it has put its facilities on the brink of a crisis.
Ogdensburg City Council released a statement urging the hospital and state officials to find a solution, saying Ogdensburg needs this hospital, but more importantly, the residents need it.
