A dog in Florida has found a loving new home after being abandoned on the side of the road, an act allegedly captured in a now-viral video.

The footage , filmed by a Sweetwater resident's Ring doorbell camera, appears to show the moment a person lets a dog out of their car and then leaves the pet behind, despite the canine's attempts to stop the vehicle.

In the heartbreaking clip, the canine circles the car and jumps up at the vehicle's closed doors before the car departs, leaving the dog alone.
