The first domino in the Philadelphia Phillies ' offseason fell on Dec. 9 when the club agreed to a five-year, $150 million deal with designated hitter Kyle Schwarber , according to reports.
The Phillies now have certainty at the top of their batting order and in their clubhouse as the organization moves on to other offseason priorities.

After describing the 2024 offseason as a bridge, Phillies president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski and the brass have talked about a larger shakeup in 2025.
But with few alternatives to their own free agents available, the Phillies could end up bringing back much of the team that lost in the National League Division Series to the Los Angeles Dodgers .
