PEORIA, Ill. – Three juvenile males are facing charges after a carjacking and attempted carjacking in North Peoria over the weekend.
The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says that two 14-year-olds were charged Tuesday with aggravated vehicular hijacking, vehicular hijacking, and unlawful possession of a stolen motor vehicle. A 15-year-old male was charged with unlawful possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
During their detention hearing, the state’s request for detention was granted, and all three will remain in custody at the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center.
On December 6 around 8 A.M., the owner of a GMC Sierra reported to police that his truck was no longer in his driveway.
Police used OnStar to track and stop the vehicle on North Knoxville Avenue near the CEFCU bank.
