SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — Several places around western Washington are juggling the impacts of local river flooding, which is expected to continue through the end of the week .

Rivers around the region are cresting due to an atmospheric river that has dropped inches of precipitation on the lowlands , and is expected to bring over a foot of snow to the Cascades.

A man and his cat had to be rescued from a car on a flooded road in Mason County. Schools are closed in Skykomish, and Snohomish County Executive Dave Somers has declared an emergency within the county.
