Disney is facing backlash from disabled fans and advocacy groups over significant changes to its program which allows guests with disabilities to skip long standby lines at its theme parks.
Critics argue the new rules for Disney’s Disability Access Service (DAS) are too restrictive and is questioning Disney’s right to determine who qualifies as disabled, according to a proposal mentioned in a Nov. 4 letter from Disney attorneys.
“This isn’t right. This isn’t what Walt and Roy would have wanted,” said Shannon Bonadurer told the Associated Press , referring to the Disney brothers who founded the entertainment empire.
