Shoppers in south London this week may notice a familiar face among Christmas choir singers.

Pop princess Sophie Ellis-Bextor will join Ocado staff and delivery drivers, alongside support from the adult choir group Soul Choir in Richmond on Friday.

The singer, whose 2001 hit Murder On The Dancefloor shot to number two in the charts when it was played in film Saltburn , will perform a revamped version of Jingle Bells called “Season Eatings”, created by Ocado.

Ms Ellis-Bextor said: “It was so much fun joining the Ocado choir’s rehearsal and seeing everyone’s reactions as we started singing. There’s something magical about Christmas carols, the way they bring people together and remind you of festive moments.
