Warwickshire County Council is celebrating a major funding award for local cycling and active travel.
Active Travel England (ATE) will give £1.99 million to the council for four years from 2026/27 for new walking and cycling infrastructure.
This as well as £624,816 per year for three years from 2026/27, for "behaviour-change programmes, community engagement, and support for people to choose active travel for everyday journeys".
The award comes as the council performed will in ATE's 2025 Capability Ratings.
The award comes months after new council leader Cllr George Finch made it clear he thinks cycleways are a waste of money.
Meanwhile, the Kenilworth to Leamington Cycleway (K2L) continues to be hit by delays.
