Seasonal increases in the numbers of patients seeking care in hospital have Hastings-Prince Edward health organizations reminding residents of other options for non-urgent care.

Each winter there are outbreaks of respiratory illnesses, including influenza and COVID-19, as people spend more time indoors, spreading the illnesses more easily.
