Operations are returning to normal for Transat A.T. Inc. on Wednesday after the company and its pilots’ union reached a tentative deal on Tuesday evening, narrowly avoiding a strike and further flight disruptions just ahead of the holiday season.

The agreement will be submitted for ratification by members of Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), which represents Air Transat’s 750-plus pilots, in the coming days. The union and the company have been negotiating a new collective agreement for more than 11 months.
