DICKINSON — The Dickinson Mavericks won just one game in the 2024-25 season. They were 0-18 in conference play and finished the year 1-21. During this year's campaign, the team is leaving all that in the past and starting out on a stronger foot.
On a frigid Tuesday night, where games across the region were getting postponed due to the severe weather, the Mavericks got themselves in the win column with a 56-43 victory over the Dawson County Red Devils.
“I thought we played composed. We definitely started off in a shooting slump, but we didn't let it ride about us,” Dickinson High School (DHS) head coach Terrance Lockett said. “We just kept pushing.”
