WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — The Woonsocket Police Department said that a 13-year-old was struck by a fire department vehicle on Dec. 9.

The incident occurred on Rathburn Street.

Police said the boy ran into the street in front of the vehicle, which was being driven by a deputy chief who was returning from a run.

The injuries the boy suffered were not believed to be serious.
