The NFL is changing one critical rule with the NFL Draft coming to Pittsburgh in 2026. In the first round of the draft, usually, a given team has ten minutes to select their pick, but this year, that will be shortened by two minutes to just eight minutes.
It is a change the NFL has long hinted at since the first round of the draft takes far too long for 32 picks. Over the last few years, the first round of the NFL Draft has not ended until around 11:45 p.m., which was a change the league wanted to see shift this year.
It is unknown if the NFL will decide to shorten times for other rounds, but NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell did say that the league is looking into giving each team one time-extension per draft, which could alleviate some concerns for time-crunching trades, especially in
