Former Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore was detained and being investigated by police over potential charges — hours after his firing by the university on Wednesday.

Moore was detained by police in Saline, Michigan, and turned over to authorities in Pittsfield Township — both near Michigan’s Ann Arbor campus — as authorities investigate potential charges, ESPN reported . It’s unclear what charges Moore could be facing.

The latest twist followed the firing of Moore, who was let go after Michigan discovered “credible evidence” that he had an “inappropriate relationship with a staff member.”
