SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Earlier today, placards were still in place at several gas stations across South Dakota.

Following a cease and desist letter from Attorney General Marty Jackley, the signs started coming down.

Mayday Health Executive Director Liv Raisner explains why South Dakota Gas Stations were selected to spread their message.

South Dakota is one of the strictest states with abortion bans in the country, but abortion pills are still available by mail. And we want people to know that we’re reaching people at gas stations because, especially in rural communities, gas stations are places for food,” said Raisner. ”They’re gathering places, they’re community hubs."
