TOOELE — The ex-wife of a semitruck driver found dead in Utah’s west desert made her first court appearance Wednesday morning on murder charges.

The woman, 47-year-old Jatinder Purewal, is the second suspect in Jaspinder Singh’s death.

The public got to see Purewal for the first time when she appeared virtually before the Third District Court from the Tooele County Jail. It’s the first time she’s faced charges , in this case aggravated murder and aggravated kidnapping, in her ex-husband’s death.

In September, the Singh’s body was found inside the sleeper cab of a semitruck stopped on the on-ramp to I-80 near Delle just outside Skull Valley.
