Liverpool has topped the list as the "UK's most generous city" this year, new data from a crowdfunding website has revealed. GoFundMe placed the city at the top of its annual rankings, calculated using donor numbers alongside population statistics, marking the second consecutive year it has topped the table.

The city's largest fundraising effort centred around Croxteth toddler Sienna-Rose Millen, whose relatives sought to gather more than £150,000 for emergency private medical transport following her collapse during a family holiday in Mexico.

Meanwhile, across Merseyside, communities rallied to collect more than £370,000 towards creating a new playground at Churchtown Primary School , honouring the memory of pupils Alice da Silva A
