LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - A hearing for a man seeking to overturn his death sentence for killing two children at a Laredo hotel in 2012 has been postponed until 2026.

According to Webb County records, a hearing for Demond Depree Bluntson was set for December 10 in the 49th District Court. The same court sentenced him to death nearly a decade ago.

Bluntson is requesting to represent himself in court if a new trial is approved. The court will decide on his request and possibly exchange evidence.

The new hearing is set for January 21 at 1:30 p.m.
