HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Honolulu Police Department arrested two people and seized multiple gaming machines, cash, and drug paraphernalia Tuesday in an effort to shut down an illegal gambling operation.
At around 5 p.m., the Narcotics/Vice Division Gambling Detail served a search warrant on an illegal game room on Kawaiaha’o Street, said police.
Officers recovered 16 gambling machines with an estimated value of $135,000, along with $3,910 in cash, said police.
HPD arrested a 29-year-old man and a 58-year-old woman on suspicion of second-degree promoting gambling and possession of a gambling device.
