State health officials have shut down the Himalayan Kitchen in Kaimuki due to insufficient refrigeration and other violations.
The Hawaii Department of Health says Himalayan Kitchen at 1137 11th Ave., Suite 205, received a red placard on Tuesday following a routine inspection that found multiple violations. The establishment must remain closed until these issues are corrected, and clearance at a follow-up inspection.
This includes the use of the facility to prepare food for the public, including off-site events.
DOH said an inspector documented the following violations at the restaurant:
>> Insufficient refrigeration in all units for TCS (time/temperature control) foods.
>> Food not in good condition, including moldy items.
>> Improper use of tobacco in the kitchen.
>> Improper date
