MANCHESTER, N.H. —

The Dover Police Department is running its annual Dover Police Charities Christmas Basket Program, providing food to families in need.

Last year, the program distributed 150 baskets throughout the community and donated food to the Dover Children's Home and My Friend's Place.

"It's actually a really good feeling to go up to a door, knock on the door, and you're holding a giant laundry basket full of filled to the brim with all kinds of food and donations to give to that family. And it's just an amazing feeling to have them open that door. See that large gift, and people standing there with a big smile on their face," said Lt. Alex Mitrushi of the Dover Police Department Community Outreach Bureau.
