Grandad-of-two Roy Marsh said he was left anxious to leave his house - and that he was approached a second time by litter wardens following his £250 Skegness fine

A pensioner was left fuming after litter wardens slapped him with a £250 fine for spitting out a leaf which blew into his mouth.

Roy Marsh, 86, was hit with the penalty notice - the same type of punishment handed to speeding drivers - while out on a walk in Skegness, Lincolnshire , earlier this year. He said he paused for a rest in a car park near some reeds on a windy day when the leaf blew into his mouth, causing him to spit it out.

Mr Marsh was then approached by two enforcement officers from East Lindsey District Council and given the £250 fine, which has left him anxious to leave his house. READ MORE : Greggs sausage
