Teesside University has entered into a research partnership with a Welsh resource management firm, which has the potential to reshape the landscape for sustainable building materials and low-carbon infrastructure across the UK.
The university is working with Dauson Environmental Group (DEG) through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) to explore the reuse of construction waste in cement and concrete products.
Cement production currently exceeds 4.1 billion tonnes each year, contributing more than 3.3 billion tonnes of CO₂ emissions globally.
