Iam always happy to share good news about Illinois since the national media seems to enjoy sharing the negative stuff. In a new national survey, Illinois was ranked as one of the top college states in America.

SmileHub just shared an interesting breakdown of the best college states in America based on a ton of data where they "compared each of the 50 states based on 28 key metrics".

With the 28 key metrics, they broke it down to 3 important categories: Education Quality & Support Rank, Social Life Rank and Economic Environment Rank. Illinois ranked in the top 5 for the first two categories, but came in 32nd in the economic environment rank.
