A former teacher told a child "I was horny" and asked "you gay yet?" in a slew of inappropriate messages. Lianne Barclay has been banned teaching after concerns were raised over her conduct.

She worked as a food technology teacher at Bridgewater High School, in Warrington , from 2017. But Miss Barclay resigned two years later while under investigation.

It was discovered she had been sending messages, voice notes and calls to a child who was not a pupil at the school where she worked. The messages were sent between March and July 2019, the Liverpool Echo reports .
