While some sheds in Newfoundland and Labrador are designated for leisure or storage, Maureen Doyle-Gillingham says found serenity in hers in Ochre Pit Cove.

That's in large part because of the estimated 1,200 or more nativity scenes she's collected over the years.

"If he can have his shed, I can have a nativity shed," Doyle-Gillingham told CBC News with a laugh earlier this month.

"It's been therapeutic and times, and it's just been a labour of love."

Doyle-Gillingham has been collecting nativity scenes for over three decades. She said she lost count once her collection surpassed 1,200 pieces. No two are alike, and there's a rescued church pew to tie the room together.
