Saturday night was a busy one for the city of Charleston.
The capital city saw the high school football season end at University of Charleston Stadium at Laidley Field.
Then, on the other end of town, the West Virginia University men's basketball team tangoed with Wake Forest in front of a crowd of 10,221 at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center.
Now, the outcome wasn't what Mountaineers coach Ross Hodge or WVU backers who attended would have wanted, as the Demon Deacons won, 75-66.
However, it was great having big-time college basketball back in Charleston after a nine-year hiatus.
It had a similar feel, for me, of a family reunion, like what I experience at the prep basketball state tournaments in March. I saw so many people that I hardly see unless it's at events like Saturda
