BREVARD — The first word Brevard football's Jax Whitmire used to describe linebacker Karter Macfie is "energetic."

"He's like a squirrel," Whitmire said. "He never stops. That's why I always say that's why he has almost 200 tackles."

He remembers how excited Macfie was after he recorded a sack against Maiden in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association 4A West Regional Final on Dec. 5.
