Film4 , the feature film division of Channel 4 , has appointed Mubi executive Cate Kane to the role of senior commissioning executive. She will join the creative team in January and report to Farhana Bhula, director of Film4, alongside senior commissioning executive David Kimbangi.

Kane joins Film4 from Mubi, where she has been serving as co-head of global acquisitions since 2020, acquiring such titles as Aftersun , The Substance , My Father’s Shadow , and The Worst Person in the World .

Prior to this, she was head of acquisitions at Curzon Film for nine years, where her work focused on such films as Parasite , 45 Years, and Force Majeure . Kane has also worked at BBC Film, Casarotto Ramsay, and Content Film.
