Brenden Shaykevich scored a hat trick to lead Millburn-Kearny-North Arlington to a 6-2 victory over Johnson-Dayton-Roselle Park at Warinanco Ice Center in Roselle.

After a scoreless first period, Johnson (0-2) took a 2-1 lead in the second with goals from Jason Jankowski and Sammy Lapotoka. Shaykevich scored Millburn’s lone goal in the second, assisted by Tom Tao and Owen Golon.

Millburn (1-1) dominated the third period, scoring five unanswered goals. Shaykevich added two more goals, including one on the power play, while Golon scored twice, once on the power play and once shorthanded. Jax Thomases also scored on the power play.

Alex Strauss had three assists for Millburn, while Ari Kremmidas added two assists. Goalie Timmy Hansen made 62 saves on 64 shots.
