John Rob Daigle remembers the last time he was in the Caesars Superdome.
Ascension Catholic played Lafayette Christian in the 2018 state championship game. Daigle was a ball boy who would carry around a big iPad.
“I was taking a picture of every little thing that happened,” Daigle said. “I thought it was the greatest experience ever.”
Daigle also recalls the heartbreak he felt after Ascension Catholic lost. Even as a ball boy, he cried when the clock hit zero and the team fell short of a state title.
“A team that was 10 years older than me,” Daigle said. “Still, I was devastated. I knew I wanted to be there one day and prove everything, and be on the opposite side."
