Kenny Pickett is likely to make his first start of the season for the Raiders with Geno Smith out with a shoulder injury, reports the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
A former Pitt and Steelers quarterback, Pickett replaced Smith in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 24-17 loss to the Broncos and completed 8 of 11 passes for 97 yards and a touchdown.
Pickett started one game for the Eagles last season, a 41-7 win over the Cowboys in Week 17. He completed 10 of 15 passes for 143 yards and a touchdown before leaving with an injury in the second half.
The Steelers took Pickett with the 20th overall pick in the 2022 draft. He started 24 games over two seasons, going 14-10 with 13 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He was dealt to the Eagles before the 2024 season. Since then he has been traded twice m
