Democratic strategist James Carville just delivered a scathing rebuke of President Donald Trump .

Carville said in the latest Politics War Room show that Trump was “done” due to his messaging on the economy. He said it was a “politically dumb message” to tell voters that the economy is the “greatest” in history when Americans are saying otherwise.

He suggested that recent elections show that Trump’s message on the economy is not resonating with voters.

“People are seeing this, and people are voting on this. Understand that he’s not getting away with it,” Carville said on Wednesday’s show. “He’s paying for it, and he’s gonna continue to pay for it, and we gotta stop looking at him as some kind of political Svengali or political Houdini or anything like that. He’s done.”
