BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Erie County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday that a Buffalo man who was accused of killing a young mother and her infant son , was found dead at the Erie County Correctional Facility.

According to the Sheriff's Office, just before 9 p.m., Kidane Haile, 30, was located unresponsive in the showers at the Erie County Correctional Facility. Deputies say that despite lifesaving efforts, Haile was pronounced dead by medical personnel shortly before 9:35 p.m.

The death is currently being investigated as an apparent suicide. An autopsy is schedule for Thursday.
