A Macomb County Circuit Court judge ordered an independent expert to evaluate a man accused of trying to abduct two girls in separate incidents last year after he was expected to plead not guilty by reason of insanity.

Relatives of the girls, ages 7 and 15 at the time of the August 2024 incidents, said they were blindsided and furious about the anticipated plea, which they first learned about in November. They said they have been pushing for a second evaluation.
