GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY — Camp Greilick is now open to the public after more than 1,000 hours of volunteer work, along with efforts from staff and community partners, helped prepare the property for four-season outdoor activities.
According to a Dec. 10 Facebook announcement from the Grand Traverse County page, the park now offers the Lagoon Loop hiking trail, additional routes for hiking, snowshoeing and backcountry cross-country skiing, an 18-hole disc golf course, a children’s area called Wood Chip Hill with a story walk and bouldering wall, and two geocaches.
County officials said the long-term vision for the park is to protect the property’s conservation value and provide a public space for outdoor recreation, environmental education and skill building.
