OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The Omaha Police Department has released the identity of the bicyclist who died after being hit by a vehicle in Omaha.
The incident happened near 32nd Avenue and Hickory Street shortly before 7 p.m. Tuesday.
An initial investigation found the bicyclist was southbound on 32nd Avenue when a southbound Chevy Tahoe struck him near Hickory Street. The bicyclist, identified as 48-year-old Charles Holmes, of Omaha, died at the hospital.
The car was traveling at a slow speed, and it appears alcohol or drugs will not be a factor in the crash, per police. The driver remained on the scene and cooperated with investigators.
