The Peoria Unified Governing board at it Dec. 10 public meeting will consider complying raising the classified employee pay and hourly special assignment schedule, based on Arizona’s upcoming minimum wage increase.
Effective Jan. 1, Arizona’s minimum wage will increase from $14.70 to $15.15 per hour.
To comply with this change, Peoria Unified School District, through governing board approval, will raise the classified starting wage, as well as wages for student workers and auxiliary workers in the hourly special assignment schedule.
This adjustment will result in pay increases for 41 employees in non-exempt Classification 5, and hundreds of staff who provide hourly special assignment support.
